Cisco Webex Service App and Webex Integration
This how-to article is based on performing a webex re-Auth of the integration with Phonism and Webex Calling Integration. Most re-authorizations only require a integration wizard authorization. Do not delete your environment unless you want to completely re-do the webex integration. Skip Step 1 and proceed to Step 2 if you received a Fix Now, Re-Auth notification.
Step 1: Instructions to delete prior Webex Authorization/Integration from Phonism.
First, log into Phonism https://app.phonism.com/
Next, navigate to the Webex Intergration at the Enterprise Level.
Navigate to the Integrations Tab, click the Trash can icon to delete.
Once the link between Phonism and Webex Integration has been removed it is ok to delete the hierarchy for the prior integration. Begin by going from the bottom of the hierarchy upwards. For example: Go the Domains and select Tenants and delete the tenants. If you have any current devices in the tenant you can remove them, this will not sync to Webex and if you choose to integrate again the existing Webex Partner Hub and Customer Orgs will be pulled back into Phonism as well as the users/devices.
Select the Tenant and click on the Trash can icon to delete in the above example (Site1).
A pop-up window will appear asking to confirm “ Are you sure you want to delete this tenant? Click ok to proceed.”
Next, go up one level in the hierarchy to the Enterprise and select the Domain to be deleted. You can select Delete the Domain and sub-assets if there are any tenants under the Domain as well.
Next, go up one level in the hierarchy to the Service Provider and select the Enterprise to be deleted. You can select to Delete the Enterprise and the sub-assets if there are any Enterprises to be deleted.
Next, go up one level in the hierarchy to the Account and select the Service Provider to be deleted. You can select to Delete the Service Provider and the sub-assets of the current selected Service Provider.
Step 2: Instructions for Adding the Integration App Wizard
Sign in to your Webex account, search for our integration on the Webex App Hub, and follow the instructions. Once you have a Phonism account and have successfully logged in, select this link to start
Integration with Phonism.com
Upon redirection to Phonism, login to Phonism and continue the onboarding by following the on-screen wizard. The wizard will guide you through:
Login to Phonism
Check for Webex Authorization
Check permissions available in Webex
Summarize the assets to be synchronized
Finalize setup and begin synchronization
Note: You can synchronize the entire partner organization including yours, or selected organizations during this setup. These can be edited later on if needed in Phonism. (See section 4.1)
Once the integration is configured, Phonism begins asynchronously pulling users and phones in a new branch of your Phonism Hierarchy, automatically creating new Domains and Tenants within that branch representing each one of your Webex Organizations and Locations.
Click on Manage Phones / Start Managing Devices to be redirected
to Phonism.
Step 3: Instructions to Regenerate the Tokens in the already existing Service App in Control Hub
*NOTE: If you are doing a re-Auth you may not need to do Step 3. However, there may be on Occassion a reason for you to regenerate the tokens and put them back into Phonism’s Integration at the Enterprise Level where the Webex Integration exists.
Log into the Control Hub instance that is going to be linked to the Phonism account for the Webex Integration.
*Note: It is recommended to logout of all other Webex accounts or launch an incognito window before proceeding to log into Webex Control Hub. This log in should be the Partner Full Admin for the WcH account.
In the left window pane of the CH overview page, click on the Apps icon.
Under the Apps Overview page, click on the Service Apps icon.
Verify the previous “Authorized” service app for Phonism exists. Once the Service App has been Authorized you do not have to repeat the Authorized Service App. Go ahead and proceed to Developer.Webex.com and Regenerate the client secret heading below.
If the app is not showing Authorized - follow the following directions:
In the Phonism SA service app select the option to unAuthorize the previous Authorization.
Click Save.
*Note: Validate the Developer Email that created the Phonism Service App. This user will need to log into the Developer Portal and get new tokens. You can create a new Service App - Refer to the KB ofr Webex Cisco Integration. https://phonism.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SKB/pages/1839398913
Log into Developer Portal http://developer.webex.com
Next, click on the Avatar for the user and select My Webex Apps.
Select the Phonism SA App that was previously created. By clicking the app.
Regenerate the client secret:
If you have the previous Client Secret you can regenerate the tokens. By clicking Regenerate the client secret. By regenerating your secret you will revoke your current secret. Are you sure?
Copy to Notepad the following in this order:
Client ID:
Client Secret:
Access Tokens:
Refresh Tokens:
This information will be needed for the Phonism Webex Integration at the Enterprise level of the SaaS portal.
If the option to submit authorization request is not available. Then log into Control Hub and navigate to the Service App and select authorize and click save.
Go back to the Developer Tab in the browser and refresh. In the section named Org Authorizations. Click the down arrow for the Authorized Orgs and select the name of your Instance in my example: NoelNguyenWxC.
Once you select the Org it will populate the Org name and Org ID. Enter Client Secret in the window and click Generate tokens.
Next, if you completed the Phonism Webex Integration Wizard go ahead and navigate to the Enterprise integration level in Phonism. Click on Edit and add the Client ID, Client Secret, Access tokens, Refresh tokens.
Step 4: Instructions to Add API Tokens to the Phonism Webex Integration
Clear any previous information that may be remnants of a prior access token or refresh token before entering the new credentials.
*Note: If there is an error go ahead and regenerate tokens from the Service App and try again.
Enter the information from the Service App Authorization API Tokens into Phonism Enterprise Integration for Webex.
Click Sync.
*Note: If you only regenerate the tokens and update them in the existing integration. This will not update the Templates. Only if you delete the integration and follow all the steps such as the integration wizard and regenerate client secret tokens will the templates auto-inject.
