π» Method 1: Web Interface
π§ Step 1: Sign in to the Teams Admin Center
Open your web browser and navigate to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center.
Open a second tab and navigate to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
Sign in with your administrator credentials in each tab.
π€ Step 2: Create a New User
User creation is managed through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
In the Teams Admin Center, click on the App launcher (the grid icon) in the top-left corner and select Admin to open the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
In the left-hand navigation pane, go to Users > Active users.
Click on Add a user.
Fill in the required information:
First name and Last name
Display name
Username
Set the password settings as desired.
Β
Assign the appropriate licenses to the user, ensuring that the user has a license that includes Microsoft Teams and Phone System capabilities.

Click Finish adding to create the user.
Note: It may take a few minutes for the new user to appear in the Teams Admin Center.
π Step 3: Create or Modify a Calling Policy to Allow SIP Devices
Return to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center.
In the left-hand navigation pane, go to Voice > Calling policies.
To create a new policy:
Click on Add.
Enter a name for the policy (e.g., "AllowSIPDevicesCalling").
Under SIP devices can be used for calls, toggle the setting to On.
Configure other settings as needed.
Click Save.
To modify an existing policy:
Click on the policy name to open it.
Click Edit.
Under SIP devices can be used for calls, toggle the setting to On.
Click Save.
π₯ Step 4: Assign the Calling Policy to the User
In the Microsoft Teams Admin Center, go to Users > Manage users.
Search for and select the user you created.
Click on the user's name to open their settings.
Go to the Policies tab.
Click Edit.
Under Calling policy, select the policy you created or modified (e.g., "AllowSIPDevicesCalling").
Click Apply
Note: Policy changes may take up to 24 hours to take effect.
βοΈ Step 5: Assign a Phone Number to the User
Assigning a phone number is managed through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, go to Users > Active users.
Click on the user's name to open their settings.
Go to the Licenses and Apps tab.
Ensure that the user has a license that includes Phone System capabilities.
Go to the Account > Phone numbers section.
Click to Edit.
Assign an available phone number to the user.
Click Save
Note: If you don't have available phone numbers, you'll need to acquire them through your telephony provider or Microsoft.
π Step 6: Verify the Configuration
In the Teams Admin Center, go to Users > Manage users.
Search for and select the user.
Verify that the correct calling policy is assigned under the Policies tab.
Ensure that the user has a phone number assigned under the Voice tab.
π Additional Notes
Policy Propagation Time: After making changes to policies, it may take up to 24 hours for the changes to take effect for the user.
Assigning a Different Policy: If the current calling policy doesn't allow SIP devices and you prefer not to modify it, you can create a new calling policy with the desired settings and assign it to the user.
User Licensing: Ensure that the user has the appropriate Microsoft Teams license that includes Phone System capabilities, as this is required for SIP device functionality.

Replace user@example.com with the user's email address.
Assign a Phone Number to the User:

Replace +1XXXXXXXXXX with the user's phone number in E.164 format.
Phonism + Microsoft Teams Setup & Configuration steps:
π§ Step 1: Sign in to Phonism as a Super Admin User
π€ Step 2: Configure Microsoft Teams at the Phonism Domain level
Navigate to the Service Provider > Enterprise > Domain Level.
Click on the βIntegrationsβ tab in the navigation menu.
Click βAdd New Integrationβ
Select βMS Teamsβ under type.
Enter a name of your integration (e.g. Walmart MS Teams Integration)
Select a SIP Gateway Provisioning Server for MS Teams:
Americas
Europe (EMEA)
Asia / Pacific (APAC)
Click βAddβ
βοΈ Step 3:Add a NEW MS Teams Device
Device Settings:
If a new device, set the βAuto Provisioning URLβ to: https://p.Phonism.com/m/
If a existing device, it is recommended to factory reset first, then set the βAuto Provisioning URLβ to: https://p.Phonism.com/m/
Navigate to Phones tab and select Add
Enter the following required information:
MAC Address
Phone Model
Software Version
Line 1 Settings are optional
Press βContinueβ
After continue, you will see the status of βwaiting for activationβ
Next, βReboot phoneβ (The phone will require a reboot to trigger the provisioning event.)
π Step 4: Reboot & Provisioning Phone
Once the phone comes back online, the status of the device in Phonism will change to βonboardingβ
One the physical device, a βSign Inβ button will appear
Click βSign Inβ on the phone.
After you click βSign Inβ a url will be displayed along with a βPair Codeβ
Go to the url in a browser βSign Inβ and βEnter the pair codeβ. Once entered, you will see a success message.

The device update will update automatically after a few minutes. A reboot is NOT required.
In Phonism, the status of the phone will display as βonboardedβ
END. Your phone is now ready.
