Summary

Polycom provides a functionality to create additional softkeys and re-define the function of default softkeys by using Enhanced Feature Keys function. Following Poly docs explains all the config and details for this.

[FAQ] Using Enhanced Feature Keys / EFK macros to change softkey functions or remove softkeys

Phonism Interface

This functionality is exposed to Phonism UI and it is located under Device → Buttons → Softkeys

Configuration

Step 1- To change the default function of a softkey, Enhanced Feature Keys should be enabled first:

Step 2- Default function desired to be modified should be disabled:

Step 3- Settings should be done for the softkey that will be replaced:

Example:

In the following setting:

  • EFK is enabled

  • Directories and New Call default softkeys are disabled

  • Softkey 1 is configured to automate the call forward facility, named with Divert and set to be active on call Idle state.

  • Softkey 2 is configured to automate Voice Mail access, named with VM, inserted into the 5th location and set to be active on call idle state.
