Use our Provisioning plus service for initial provisioning and onboarding a device.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Myo1oYMukqc

Provisioning Plus is a cloud service for initial provisioning and onboarding a device. You have up to 30 days to easily access all the features of Phonism for each device, including applying templates, button management, and more.

Requirements

  • This feature needs to be enabled on your account by Phonism support.

  • Every time a device is added to Phonism, (the administrator) will need to turn on the Provisioning Plus setting for that device.

ENABLE PROVISIONING PLUS ON THE DEVICE

When you add a new phone, toggle Provisioning Plus to ON

Note: Every time a device is added to Phonism, you (the administrator) must turn on the Provisioning Plus setting for that device. If you don’t enable it, the device defaults to a monthly subscription plan. If you choose this route, you can provision the device and continue to manage the device on a month-to-month basis.

Manage a device after it’s expired

A device can be re-enabled for ongoing management following the 30-day provisioning Plus period.  When you or the customer adds a subscription license, you are billed for that 6-month period in the month the license was added.  For example, if your price from Phonism is $1.00  per month,  you are billed $6.00 one time. Once those 6 months are elapsed, the device is billed as any other managed device.

Add a license to a Provision plus device

  1. Navigate to the Phones tab.

  2. Check the box next to each device you’d like to add a license.

  3. Select the Actions drop-down menu.

  4. Click Manage Licenses.

  5. Click Continue.

The license is automatically enabled for 6 months and you are billed accordingly. The device now shows the license “expires in 184 days.”

Once a device is flagged for Provisioning Plus, a device has a limited time exposed in Phonism for changes. This window is 30 days and starts when the device receives its first configuration from Phonism. Once the window of time is complete, the device remains in Phonism in the customers account, but is greyed out and flagged EXPIRED. During the 30-day window you have access to all the features of Phonism for each device, including applying templates, button management, and more.

FORCE PROVISIONING PLUS FOR A SERVICE PROVIDER

You can force this feature at service provider level. When adding a new service provider or editing an existing one, Force Provisioning Plus needs to be turned on.

When turned on, you get the notification below and all the newly added devices to the service provider are forced to Provisioning Plus.

Below is the Add a New Phone screen. This service provider has the Provisioning Plus setting on. This toggle button is not editable.

Note: The 30-day window begins when the device receives its first configuration from Phonism. Once the window of time is complete, the device remains in Phonism in the customers account, but is flagged EXPIRED.
