Define firmware to be installed on all devices across your deployments.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hg_Q9oFCUKc

Managing software and firmware installed on your endpoints can be a hassle and challenging to scale. On the Software Rules page, you can define firmware to be installed on all devices across your deployments with a few clicks. Use these rules to easily define a minimum software version or enforce a specific software version to be installed on all devices in your deployment.

ADD OR EDIT A SOFTWARE RULE

  1. Select the Software Rules tab.

  2. Select Add / Edit Software Rule.

  3. Choose a Brand from the drop-down menu.

  4. Select a software version, per model.

  5. Select the rule (or mode) to enforce. Options include:

    1. No Control - Rule has no effect.

    2.   Enforce Version - Phones are queued to upgrade or downgrade to the target software.

    3.   Enforce and Overwritable - Phones are queued to upgrade to the target software only if the device is running an older version. This rule can be overwritten by a rule at a lower level in your hierarchy.

  6. When finished, click Submit to save.

EXAMPLE SCENARIO

Standardize your entire deployment on a single firmware version.

Set a software rule at the account-level and set every rule to Enforce Version.

Force older models to a minimum software version but do not downgrade them.

Set a software rule and set the enforcement to Enforce and Overwritable.
