Adding Zoom Integration

Prerequisites

  1. An existing Phonism Account

  2. Enable Other Phone Support in Zoom

Adding the Integration

  1. Use the button above or search for our integration on the Zoom Marketplace

  2. Sign-in to your Zoom account and authorize the integration.

  3. Upon redirection to Phonism, login to Phonism and continue the onboarding by following on the on-screen wizard. The wizard will guide you through:

    1. Login to Phonism

    2. Check for Zoom Authorization

    3. Check permissions available in Zoom

    4. Summarize the assets to be synchronized

    5. Finalize setup and begin synchronization

Usage

After Integration

  • Once the integration is configured, Phonism begins synchronizing assets in a new branch of your Phonism Hierarchy and automatically creates new Tenants within that branch representing each one of your Zoom Sites.

  • Zoom Phone Users and Devices will be created in the corresponding Tenants in Phonism

Two-way Sync of Sites, Users, and Zoom Phone Devices

  • Assets created or deleted in Zoom will be created in Phonism automatically.

    • Creating a new Site in Zoom will result in a new Tenant being created as part of your Zoom Hierarchy in Phonism

    • New Zoom Phone Users will have an equivalent Phonism User created at their Tenant

    • New Zoom Phone Devices added as “Other” in Zoom will be added in Phonism at their Tenant

    • New Phonism Tags are available that can be configured to be dynamically resolved for a particular Phone and it’s assigned Zoom Phone User

      • These values are ingested and mapped from Zoom Phone

  • Assets managed from Phonism will be synced to Zoom with the following restrictions:

    • No Tenant can’t be created under a Zoom Integration Domain

    • Any created user will appear as pending at Zoom untils the user accept the invitation

    • Zoom Admin and Owner users can not be deleted

    • Users can only be assigned at max to three phones

    • VoIP credentials are read only

    • User assigment is required when a phone is created

    • Phones created in Phonism appear as the “Other” device in Zoom Phone

Applying Tags to the phone

Now that the assets are synchronized, you need to create a Phonism Template per brand/model(s) as Auto-Apply, so the values of the dynamic synchronized tags from Zoom will be push to the phone’s config.

Deactivating Zoom Integration

  1. In Phonism, navigate to the Domain where your Zoom Integration lives

  2. Goto the Integrations Tab and select the trash icon to delete the integration by following the on-screen wizard

 

Troubleshooting

Assets created in Phonism do not appear in Zoom

  • Pushing new assets to Zoom may take a few moments depending on system load. If an asset has not been created in Zoom within 3-5 minutes from creation in Phonism, please contact support.

FAQ

  • How are assets mapped between Phonism and Zoom?

    • In Phonism, our Tenant is the equivalent of a Zoom Site. All Sites and assets belonging to those Site will be mapped to the corresponding Tenants in Phonism.

  • Not all of my devices appear in Phonism

    • Only devices identified as “Other” in Zoom Phone will be created in Phonism.
