End of Life Poly PDMS-SP Announcement
Feature Announcement: Phonism’s Transition to Poly ZT
Ensuring a Seamless Transition from PDMS-SP to Poly ZT
As the HP/Poly PDMS-SP platform approaches its end-of-life (EOL) in May, Phonism is ensuring that our customers can continue to manage their devices seamlessly. HP/Poly is responsible for the migration of data from PDMS-SP to Poly ZT, with a planned scheduled transition starting March 7th, 2025 at 7pm Mountain Time US - March 11th, 2025 at 7pm Mountain Time US. To support our customers, Phonism has been working hard on updating its integrations to align with the new Poly ZT platform.
What You Need to Know ( According to HP/Poly’s announcement )
March 7th Impact: HP/Poly will begin migrating data from PDMS-SP to Poly ZT. During this time, active management features in PDMS-SP will be unavailable.
May 30th EOL: HP/Poly will fully decommission PDMS-SP, and all functionalities will be transitioned to Poly ZT.
HP/Poly Migration Process: Device profiles and associations will be automatically migrated to Poly ZT by HP/Poly, with no action needed from Phonism users.
Temporary Disruptions: During the migration window, OBi devices will be unable to perform Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP), while UCS devices will retain ZTP capabilities.
This also includes Phonism customers that are leveraging the Poly PDMS-SP API integration
What Phonism is Doing to Ensure a Smooth Transition
Phonism is not responsible for the data migration between PDMS-SP and Poly ZT; however, we are actively working to ensure that customers can continue to manage their devices once PDMS-SP is shut down. Our focus has been on integrating with the new Poly ZT APIs to maintain and enhance device provisioning and management.
1. Full Integration with Poly ZT APIs
Phonism is integrating directly with Poly ZT, ensuring that our customers can continue to Zero Touch deploy Poly UCS and Poly OBi devices without any interruptions. This integration guarantees that your provisioning workflows remain intact, even after PDMS-SP is sunset.
2. Deprecation of PDMS-SP Integration
With PDMS-SP being discontinued by HP/Poly, Phonism will deprecate our existing PDMS-SP integration in the near future. We will provide updates and guidance to ensure that all customers smoothly transition to Poly ZT and leverage Phonism’s built-in remote management capabilities.
3. Enhancing Remote Management Capabilities
Poly ZT introduces new APIs that allow remote device management and troubleshooting, similar to what PDMS-SP offered prior. Phonism will update remote management capabilities within our platform. This will utilize the new Poly ZT APIs to ensure customers retain full control over their devices.
What You Need to Do
No immediate action is required from customers for the data migration; this is being handled by HP/Poly.
If you rely on PDMS-SP for Zero Touch Provisioning, be aware of HP/Poly’s brief service impact from March 7th to March 11th.
