Zero-Touch Provisioning is a cloud-based solution offered by Polycom to make it easier to deploy Poly endpoints.  When a Polycom VoIP device is initially installed at the customer site, it automatically contacts the Polycom ZTP server and downloads an initial configuration.

If you configure the Phonism integration with Poly ZTP, a factory fresh or factory defaulted device will automatically point itself to Phonism for management.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Poly ZTP account. If you need an account:

  • Must have a Poly ZTP API account. This is in addition to the ZTP console account. If you need an account, email ztpinfo@polycom.com and request access. You should receive a numeric userid and companyid.

    • Log in to the Poly ZTP console and create a new profile.

    • Enable the Polycom ZTP integration on your Phonism account.

CREATE A NEW PROFILE IN POLYCOM ZTP CONSOLE

  1. Log in to the Poly ZTP console.

  2. Navigate to the Profiles tab.

  3. Click Create New Profile.

  4. Follow the pop-ups and enter the necessary information.

  5. Add the provisioning server address.

  6. Click Save.

ENABLE POLY ZTP INTEGRATION ON PHONISM

Before you begin this step, make sure you have your ZTP API credentials from Polycom.

  1. Log in to your Phonism account.

  2. Select the Account tab.

  3. Select Redirect Services.

  4. Fill out the Polycom ZTP section.

    • ZTP User ID - This is User ID given to you when you registered for API access by Polycom. Note: This is a numeric userid, it is not your email address.

    • ZTP Password - This is the password you created when you registered for API access.

    • ZTP Reference ID - This is a unique identifier that associates your Polycom devices in Phonism with your ZTP Account. Note: This must be unique and a new value that does not already exist in your account.

    • ZTP Profile Name - This is the name of the profile that you have created in your ZTP account. Note: This profile has to be created within the Polycom ZTP GUI and should be created  before setting up ZTP on Phonism.

    • ZTP Company ID - This is the Company ID given to you after you registered for the API access.

  5. After all the credentials are filled out, click Save.

The system attempts to register under the Reference ID you have provided. If successful, you can now add or remove any device in Phonism from the methods described above, and it will register or deregister any Polycom device under that Reference ID.
